Autumn light

Wearing my black sun hat to shield my eyes from the early fall light, I used my outside broom to tend to my sacred space by clearing away spiderwebs and sweeping the autumn leaves from the patio. In a delicate dance among the bees still feasting on lavender’s last blossoms, I began to harvest the spent flowers to create winter sachets. As I filled my basket with a bountiful collection of fragrant lavender, I couldn’t help but think of my ancestral mothers, who were wrongly persecuted for being witches and murdered simply for caring for their homes and harvesting herbs to create healing medicine.

I honor and thank all my ancestral mothers who had their inherent Goddess essence silenced in their time. Their Goddess birthright miraculously lives on through generations to this day. Today, the women of America can stand in their divine light without fear and embody the Great Goddesses of our ancestors.

And with great hope and excitement, we are on the verge of putting a woman in charge. In Sanskrit, her name means Lotus; in English, it’s pronounced Kamala. It’s up to us to ensure her election as President of the United States. After generations of women being regarded as lesser, it’s time to rise, embrace our intellectual power, honor our wise and innocent female ancestors, and let the divine feminine lead the way. Vote Kamala Harris for President.

LOTUS for POTUS

One of the world’s leading peace activists, artist, writer, my dear friend and mentor, Jan Phillips, has a new photography exhibit “Human/Nature: The Incredible Oneness of Things” at the Unity Center in San Diego. Her opening reception and inspirational talk will take place on Sunday, October 6th, at noon. At the opening and closing receptions, Jan will facilitate a group conversation on the relationship between creativity, spirituality and social justice. Her works will be on display until Sunday, November 17th, when she will again showcase her brilliance with an inspirational presentation.
