Mid-year pause

Hope this post finds you at rest, embracing the tranquility of the Summer Solstice. To celebrate this mid-year pause, we Moon Mothers stepped away from our usual routine. We engaged in a divine feminine morning retreat. It was dedicated to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of sensuality. Our rituals were gentle and relaxing, allowing us to heighten our senses through creativity. In this sweet circle of women, we collaboratively created a 3’x6′ painting, using only our feet and hands. It was a beautiful way to embrace grace and immerse ourselves in the flow of sensual creative energy.

Below is a little slideshow from Solstice Retreat.

Summer Solstice Retreat

The official summer solstice began on Friday, June 20th, at 7:41 PM and will continue until Wednesday, June 25th. On Saturday, sunrise was at 5:49 AM and sunset at 8:34 PM, with these times remaining consistent until Wednesday morning. Wednesday’s new moon sunrise will be a few minutes later, while sunset will occur a few minutes earlier. As Mother Earth gradually turns on her axis, she embarks on her journey into the year’s second half. We slowly transition toward autumn. We pause in harmony with the natural rhythm of the universe. We allow ourselves to slow down. We savor this season of change. We welcome the sweetness of summertime.

My friend Sara Sherwood asked me to inform you about an important event happening on July 19th. It is the 177th anniversary of the Suffrage movement’s inception. This movement aimed at securing women’s right to vote. It took a long time to achieve this goal, but we finally succeeded in 1920.

Now it is being threatened by the SAVE Act, which already passed our House of Representatives. If the Senate passes it, it will make it very hard for women who have changed their name to vote. 69 million American married women. Screw that! Let’s march.

‘Til we meet again, may you find restful moments to channel your gentle feminine strength, allowing you to rise and radiate your nurturing light for all to see.

Sincerely,

Tamara Trejo
