Tell Me Something True: Voices from Sagehood
When did you wake up? Genesis. Woke up late. Search for myself. I am part of water and sky.
In my body I carry. Hope, love, kindness, source, generational trauma, passion, desire, systems, memories, history, a lifetime of experience.
How do you care for your people? I weave myself, more delicately now. Boundaries. Self-care. No expectations of outcome. It’s an unexpected gift for me. See all that is. The heart that keeps on giving. Unsegmented. Whole self. In that moment of breathing—action joy.
What has been waiting in the dark, preparing to rise in you? Finding the me. Speaking my truth. Silence and stillness in my flow—where my intuition blooms. Turning the page. Intense energy—remove the clock. I turn the page, color to dark days. Inner wise being. Liberated version. Chime the large bells of glory. Feather on the breath of God.
Where does pleasure live in you? My heart, sacral chakra, solar plexus, core, feet, eyes, all five senses, hands, arms, ears.
What do you stand for? Love. Beauty. Truth. Kindness. I stand for peace. All whose voices are not heard. Anonymity. Equality. My worldview.
Who do you stand up for? Me. Those I love. I can go full Mother Bear when one of them is threatened. Those who take care of themselves.
Whose shoulders do you stand upon? My mother. A line of women who stood up for their family. Friend Norman’s teaching: “never be a victim.” All ancestors. The all. The all.
Why would you return to this life again? Giving birth. My babies cry. My babies’ breath. Redo or remedy a moment I wasn’t proud of. Laugh, laugh, laugh. To witness. Unfinished goals. Unfinished visions. To help with struggles. To evolve a little more. Healing hurts. Too sweet, too good not to return.
A renewed sense of creative freshness, deep grounding in your life story, and a mysterious intimacy with your inner muse.

Over eight weeks, we will work with watercolor and acrylic paint, carve and print custom lino stamps, sew, explore varied papers and canvas, and incorporate gold leaf and sealing finishes. New materials, techniques, and resources are introduced at each gathering.
No previous experience necessary. Limited to 8 women.

Below is a poem inspired from our Art Journal journey by Mela Beatrix
A circle of women
Each connected to that which is deep within themselves. That which connects them to each other, yet each one different. We have journeyed to this point from many places and they have shared many stories. Each connected to each other through open hearts and shared breath. Together we have laughed, together we have cried. Together we have bloomed into something better, something more whole. This is a soul journey, drawn from our own writing, inspired by our own art, and mirrored in our shared words. What inspired the change was different for each, as was the way we found our path. As we wandered through our life experiences, and released our imagination, each found a nugget of truth that was theirs alone. As we tucked this new found gift into our hearts, we felt a new presence. We felt the connection, whether to our ancestors, our spiritual path, or the forest. We will now move into the world, remembering we are fully connected to ourselves. Knowing we are connected to something greater than ourselves. With this knowledge, each carries a new strength and new hope. Each reflecting their own special beauty. Each honoring the unique beauty of the others A circle of women.
