Moon in Aquarius and Jupiter aligned with Mars
On this most auspicious, third Super Full Moon of 2013 we gathered in the Enchanted Forest to honor the Greek Goddess Artemis.
As I drove to the Forest, rain sprinkled on my windshield, but somehow I knew it was going to be alright. How could it not be? It was Mary Magdalen’s birthday, the Moon was in Aquarius, Jupiter was aligned with Mars, Saturn aligned with Venus, and Earth aligned with Mercury. I knew in my heart the weather would change, even though the coast had been shrouded in fog for days and the air felt thick with rain all day. Leah and I walked through the forest and chose a sheltered spot in a circle of trees and set up the altar. The clouds began to part and we could see patches of blue sky above the trees.
In ancient ritual we cast our circle, and the ceremony unfolded with singing, dancing and story telling. As night fell we formed two lines of women facing each other to create a tunnel of whispering wisdom and began the ancestral shower. With eyes closed, one by one, each woman walked through the loving tunnel. The woman on the sides whispered kind words of encouragement into the ear of the walker. At the end of the human tunnel (birth cannel) Sweet Light Crone, gave the last wise whispering and then said “open your eyes”. There she was Mother Moon shining pure and bright. It was a sight to behold.
With our arms around each other we circled close together and raised our voices in song to close the circle. I felt deeply grounded and light at the same time.
